The Open Meetings Law applies to "public bodies." That term is defined to include entities consisting of two or more people who conduct public business and perform a governmental function for New York State, for an agency of the state or for public corporations, such as cities, counties, towns, villages, fire districts and school districts including committees and subcommittees of these entities. Consequently, city councils, town boards, village boards of trustees, school boards, commissions, legislative bodies, and committees and subcommittees consisting of members of those groups fall within the coverage of the Law. Pursuant to the notification provisions of Section 94 of NYS Public Officers Law and by order of the Board of Fire Commissioners, the Glenville Hill Fire District No. 8 announces/publishes the following meetings/events.
Please Note - Board of Fire Commissioners monthly meetings will begin at 6:30pm beginning in 2025.

There may be occasions when one or more Commissioners will participate by teleconferencing technology (ZOOM or equivalent) audio-video.  Any such event/meeting where such technology will be utilized will be specifically identified in the on-line event calendar below with an asterisk (*).  At the firehouse location, there will be available an audio-video “videoconferencing” system so that any interested person may attend the meeting at the firehouse location and be fully informed of the discussions taking place either in person or by audio-video communication.  To request audio-video conference information, please complete the contact us form not later than 24-hours prior to the meeting date and time and we will respond as soon as possible prior to the date/time of the event/meeting.

Any person requiring special accommodation at a meeting because of disability or physical impairment should contact the district Secretary at (518) 982-8583 at least five (5) calendar days prior to the meeting.
